Ajee by Revlon c1993

Ajee by Revlon: launched in 1993. Pronounced "ah-jay". Created by Michelle Elie.

The perfume was composed of floral native to Africa.

"From the heart of Africa comes a fragrance that will capture the heart of every woman, a fragrance steeped in rare and exotic ingredients that come together in a scent unlike any other."

Fragrance Composition:


So what does it smell like? It is classified as a modern floral oriental fragrance for women. Similar to Opium and Cinnabar.

  • Top notes: African orange, bergamot, tangerine, ylang-ylang, orange blossom
  • Middle notes: karo karounde absolute, African hibiscus, Madagascar clove, lily of the valley, geranium, iris, Turkish rose, Moroccan jasmine
  • Base notes: myrrh, rosewood, woods, musk, vanilla and amber


Bottle:


The frosted glass bottle, which is topped with a purple cap inspired by African sunsets, rests inside carton reminiscent of African mud cloth.

Ajee retailed for $11.50 and $20 at drug stores and mass merchandisers.



Fate of the Fragrance:


Discontinued, date unknown, probably around 1996.
