Cerissa by Revlon: launched in 1974.






Cerissa was available in the following products:
  • Pulse Point Perfume
  • Perfume Concentrate
  • Concentrated Cologne
  • Dusting Powder
  • Body Lotion
  • Solid Perfume

Fragrance Composition:


So what does it smell like? It is classified as a soft and sweet floral chypre fragrance for women. A fresh, contemporary, spring-like floral with spicy accents. It starts with a green, fruity, aldehydic top, followed by an exotic floral heart with doses of carnations, lily of the valley, honeysuckle, jonquils and jasmine, resting on a sweet balsamic base.
  • Top notes: bergamot, raspberry, green note, aldehydes and cinnamon
  • Middle notes: carnation, tuberose, rose, jonquil, lily of the valley, jasmine and honeysuckle
  • Base notes: Siamese benzoin, cedar, oakmoss, Mysore sandalwood, patchouli, musk, ambergris, labdanum, vanilla


Cue, 1974:
"Revlon just- introduced Cerissa, a very feminine floral, will become a classic; try it and see — a two-plus-ounce cologne spray is $10."

Soap, 1974:
"Revlon: "Cerissa" After the big success of "Charlie," Revlon has produced more fragrances with names which begin with the first initial of the first name of the late Charles Revson first "Ciara" and now "Cerissa" "Cerissa" is a floral bouquet.."

Soap, 1975:
"New fragrance by Revlon, Inc., New York, called "Cerissa," is available as a concentrated spray cologne."

Vogue, 1975:
"A new perfume (and since when wasn't perfume a tool?) is one described as "meant for women who are not afraid to be vulnerable to men." Charles Revson makes it. It's Cerissa — tender, pretty, and totally emotive. 1 ounce, $50." 



Fate of the Fragrance:


Discontinued in 1989.
